At present, higher education in China will soon enter the stage of universalization, facing dramatical changes in the economic, political, social, and international environment. In this process, Chinese universities have ushered in a period of rapid self-development, and the strategic management in universities has presented a new look. For strategic concept, the universities' development vision is external, cross-regional, and globalized. For strategic planning, the traditional development planning departments have a more professional staffing system, and its job responsibilities serve the overall school development. For strategy implementation, the “streamlining administration and delegating power” within the school forms a smooth mechanism for overall strategy implementation. Lastly, for strategic evaluation, Chinese universities break the fixed feedback mechanism full of engineering thinking, and develop towards a dynamic ranking competition. The strategic management of Chinese universities presents an open, scientific, integrated and dynamic trend.
